Annals of Hepatology

During the meeting of the ALEH delegates
held in Buenos Aires in December 2006, the Annals of Hepatology (official journal of the Mexican Hepatology Association) was unanimously designated as the official journal of the Latin-American Association for the Study of the Liver. This change comes to replace “Gastroenterología y Hepatología”, the journal of the Spanish Association for the Study of the Liver, which served as official journal of the ALEH in the last 4 years.

This decision to appoint Annals of Hepatology as the official journal of ALEH was based on our belief that the official journal of a Latin American association in better published in one of these countries. After a careful analysis, Annals of Hepatology was appointed for the purpose.

We appreciate the extraordinary work performed by Dr. Nahum Mendez and his team as the editors of Annals of Hepatology, and we hope that this new project will contribute to a more effective integration and collaboration between all the hepatologists and related specialists practicing in our continent as well as worldwide.

Durante la reunión de delegados de la ALEH realizada en Buenos Aires en Diciembre 2006,
la revista “Annals of Hepatology” (revista oficial de la Asociación Mexicana de Hepatología), fue unánimemente designada como la revista oficial de la Asociación Latinoamericana para el Estudio del Hígado. Este cambio se hace en sustitución de la revista “Gastroenterologia y Hepatología”, órgano oficial de la Asociación Española para el Estudio del Hígado, la cual sirvió como órgano
oficial de la ALEH en los últimos 4 años.

Esta decisión se baso en nuestra creencia de que la revista oficial de una sociedad
científica latinoamericana debe ser publicada en uno de nuestros países, y luego de un
cuidadoso análisis, “Annals of Hepatology” fue designada a tal fin.

Apreciamos el extraordinario trabajo realizado por el Dr. Nahum Méndez y su equipo de
editores del “Annals of Hepatology”, y esperamos que este nuevo proyecto contribuya a una más efectiva integración y colaboración entre todos los hepatólogos y especialistas
relacionados que ejercen en nuestro continente y a nivel mundial.
