Jet Airways is the only airlines which survived after aviation was opened to private operators, while rest others have closed down. Hopefully you may recall Damania, Sahara, and others; though Sahara has again started to make a buzz for sometime now.
Jet Airways has been a good performer as compared to Indian Airlines (coz thats the only comparative we have in indian operations, i dont know about International Services, as i've been a domestic flier only). Starting from ticketing options, the customer service is very cooperative. Reaching the airport, the ground staff is always keen to help you around, lesser amount of time is spent in getting the boarding pass as compared to Indian Airlines and the check-in counter staff is very pleasing and equally cooperative. Once you're in the aircraft, the in-flight staff will take care of rest of your journey, very courteous and smart; specially the girls are very beautiful ;) one ofthe reasons that younger generation prefers to fly in Jet Airways:)
Overall, a very good service provider in india for the airlines. I would suggest that let Indian Airlines be handed over to Jet Airways and let them operate the entire operations. Surely, that would reduce the losses which Indian Airlines is making all these years.
