Out of this world!!! This is all I can say about black.
I have not seen a movie like black in my life, with a subject never portrayed on Indian cinema and performances never thought of by an Indian movie goer.xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has not made a film, itââ¬â¢s a piece of art with every moment in the movie, as engrossing as possible and as refined as one could ever think of. From the beginning when deaf and blind Michelle(Rani Mukherjee) runs into her teacher Debraj(Amitabh) who is blind too till the last scene of the movie, every moment of the film clutches the viewer and never lets go.
Black lets us peep through the souls of the characters, and the pain they are in. Even if you try to, you cannot turn away from it. You do not have a choice but to feel the awesome and overpowering emotions of the movie, and see Michelleââ¬â¢s world.
As Debraj makes Michelle 'see' into the light through her blindness, he goes blind and finally loses his mind. In the best most heart-wrenching moments of the film, Michelle rattles the chains that are put on her guru to prevent him from causing himself bodily harm.
Credit goes to everybody in Bhansaliââ¬â¢s team, who have given shape to his vision and have done a marvelous job in bringing out the directorââ¬â¢s anguished feelings.
Black belongs to Amitabh Bachchan. Its impossible to imagine any actor playing Debraj. He has given new dimensions to acting in bollywood with his flamboyant and unparalleled excellence. To say Black is Amitabhââ¬â¢s finest would be too less.
Rani Mukherjee as the blind and deaf protagonist looks like she was made for this role and the little girl, Ayesha playing the young Michelle has done a wonderful job too. I look forward to her making a place for herself in bollywood soon.
Recommend the movie??? Iââ¬â¢d catch all of you and take you to watch this movie if I can. DO watch it. This one is not to be missed!!!
