Nana Patekar, till now a crack police officer who does not allow anything to come in the way of his work, becomes a vigilante, a cop who misuses his power and his gun. In the process he steps on some high level toes, figures out who are the bad cops, and sets out to finish his wifeâs killer. How he escapes from the house of the don he has murdered is never explained and his continued stay in a strange country that he has entered illegally is never clarified. The end is rushed through and the protagonist lives to fight another day.xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
All underworld films have to necessarily have a liberal dose of cuss words, strong and silent cops and flashy gold wearing dons and Ab Tak Chhappan is no stranger to these clichés. After a while a resigned feeling of âbeen there done thatâ sets in.
Nana Patekar delivers a flawless performance. In fact, the actor is in form after a long, long time. Prasad Purandare is a revelation. Here's an actor who can deliver if given an opportunity. Mohan Agashe is adequate in a small role. Both Revathi and Hrishita Bhatt don't get ample scope, but leave a mark nonetheless.
Mixing jazz and Indian influences into Vangelis-like pieces, the background score by Salim Sulaiman is simply great and this duo seems all set to go places.
On the whole, ab tak not a poor show.
