Swades̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a movie about an NRI(Shahrukh) who comes back to xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />India looking for his nanny in a village called charanpur.xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Ashutosh Gowariker, the director might have chosen a subject close to his heart and very stimulating, but the execution doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t seem to be that close to his heart. It is too slow at times and slowed down further by some unwanted songs in second half.
There is no plus point in the movie except for SRK who stands tall as always and is very heart warming. Gaytri Joshi has made an impressive debut, but she can be more controlled in her expression at times.
Mohan(SRK) trying to improve things in village, getting to interact with panchayat, and especially bringing electricity to the village reminds me of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅMumbai se aaya mera dost̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ which wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t so long back.
The story is too sluggish and drags on most of the times. I wonder what the editor(Ballu Saluja) was up to all along, because I am sure he has not done editing in this movie. Yes, the debut heroine, Gayatri Joshi is welcome addition to bollywood and makes the movie worth a watch.
Good one time watch, but too slow... be patient guys.. this too will pass
