Swades, has a beautiful and really meaningful story and an even better xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Backdrop in terms of the sets showing NASA and a rustic rural life.
The whole look of the movie made it seem less like a sterio type bolywood dolled up show and gave it a rather realistic touch. The rural areas of UP shown, portrayed perfectly the backwardness of certain parts of India as intended and the stubborn narrow minded attitude of our elders too.
However coming from a film maker who churned out Lagaan that was far more than
Just a fantastic movie, Swades was quite a dissapointment.
The cast wasnââ¬â¢t too impressing, Shah Rukh Khan was a usual heart warmer but the rest of the band wagon was at an average performance level. The music is no doubt very melodious and likable but could have definitely been better placed and pasteurized in the film, the dance drama during a Dashera scene seemed completely fake and a far cry from any Bollywood flick standards.
One fresh change from the normal was that the photography and audio visual impact was seamless and well worked on.
However in essence it was a film with a beautiful story a fantastic setting, a prity decent cast, good music, fantastic setting photography ââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦.but it was too slow and the moments dragged on forever. Emotions that could have been portrayed in a tenth of the time and yet be more impact full were pulled on for endless minuets making it quite drab and boring at times.
Well hope Ashutosh Gowarikar continues making a lot more meaningful yet entertaining cinema (like Lagaan was and Swades intended to be.) but the next time round he needs to buy himself a watchââ¬Â¦..
